The Camp's - Our Story
What started as a passion, has continued to grow and mature in to the style of photography you see today.
Our main goal is to provide high quality, adventure based fine photography services to people and their pets in natural settings, either down the road or across the world.

Our secondary goal is to provide high quality images to people enjoying whitewater river's, primarily located in Tennessee.
We do not sell whitewater images of boaters but do accept donation's for images on an individual basis. Whether you have contributed $0 or >$100, we appreciate you and want you to enjoy your digital image on social media. We understand that not everyone can afford to pay hundreds and thousands of dollars for the level of images we are providing and that's ok! These are high quality, hand edited images that can be enlarged and enjoyed for years.

If you would like to use our images commercially, on your bio page for that new sponsor, print the image, resize or remove my watermark. Please contact me prior to its use, this is my art and it is copyrighted.

All images are available for sale, either printed - including glossy/matte print, canvas, acrylic, metal, puzzle's or digitally. Images are typically available with or without a watermark.
Our Whitewater Journey:
Camp Outside Photo's was named by Jody in 2019, honestly, without her the majority of this wouldn't be here. She wrangles our Star Slice while I'm either standing up in it or crawling over the side and in to the water for a shot. At times she's hanging on to an edge with just the tips of her fingers.
The idea of taking high quality DSLR images on whitewater sprang from me wanting to bring my DSLR down the Grand Canyon for our 16 day self - supported trip in 2021. I researched and decided on two cases. One from Watershed Drybags with a camera insert and the other an SKB waterproof hard case. Once I figured that out, I learned how to glue handles on our Slice and then additional D rings.
With the SKB box secured to my pontoon we did a lap down the Ocoee. The test run was done and I started taking images on the Middle Ocoee and Tellico River's in 2019.
What a journey this has been! Two of my whitewater images have been featured in the American Whitewater Calendar, I earned a place on Team Watershed for 2022 and was in the top 3 for contributors that year. Currently, we are sponsored by the best Hand Paddle's in the game, Shockerz by Ben Robinson. In addition, we have provided adventure based content for multiple brands in both the photography and whitewater communities.
If you love Watershed Products as much as I do and are interested in a new bag. Follow my link to help support my affiliate page.

My Workflow:
I start each trip with an empty memory card. During any given adventure I may take between 300 - 2000 pictures. A typical weekend on the Middle Ocoee mean's around 2,000 images for the weekend. I do cull images some as I'm going through and selecting one image of every person to post on our Facebook Page. These images are all raw, unedited images not intended for use.
At this point, people start beginning to requests images and the editing process is in full swing. That begins with sifting through all images to locate each individual shot of you throughout the day. Often times this means multiple rapids. Once we get here, the fun really starts. I typically spend several minutes hand editing each image. This consists of dodging and burning - meaning to add and subtract light from different areas across your photographs. This is the process used to create each set of images that come out of my studio.

Special Thanks:
To my Marketing Director, Boat Wrangler and Best Friend. Without you, none of this mess would happen. To my crew, thank you for all the memories, your friendship and having our backs on and off the water.
Finally, to you all. Thank you for appreciating my work, visiting this site, liking our Facebook page, sharing my content, following us on instagram and supporting us with donations for whitewater images.

I would be honored to earn a place on your wall.
